How To Install Windows Vista

  1.  Before your Install Windows Vista, check whether your system is compatible to run the OS. Check whether the system meets the required specifications required for installing.
  2. Your system must have at least an 800 MHz processor, and a minimum RAM capacity of 512 and 20 GB of hard disk memory with DirectX 9 graphics card.
  3. To check the specifications of your system, right-click on the My Computer. Choose Properties. You will see the General tab where the specifications will be mentioned.
  4. If you want to install Windows Vista while already using another OS, make sure that you back up all the data before upgrading the OS.
  5. This is done because while upgrading, all the personal data like photos, documents, and files will be permanently erased from your system. 
  6. Although you can use DVDs, CDs, USB flash drives or external hard disks to save your data. You can even upload them to your cloud drive. 
  7. Change the settings in the BIOS menu to Install Windows Vista so that the computer will start by booting from the removable disk and not from its internal memory. Change the settings by pressing the boot menu keys like F2, F8 or F12 while the system starts up.
  8. After inserting the CD or the USB drive containing the Windows OS, your boot menu will appear automatically if it is set correctly. 
  9. The setup program will automatically be launched without the need to press any key. The Windows files will start to load and the Vista logo will appear later.
  10. The files will be deleted afterwards. Set your preferences like setting the time, language and currency format if prompted. Select your options and click Next. 
  11. A page will appear prompting you to click Install Windows Vista Now. There are several options listed below too. But don’t choose them. Enter the product key and click and accept the terms and conditions.
